2012!
Holy cow! It has been awhile since I've posted anything, so I thought I would do an update (even though you all probably know what's going on in our lives because of Facebook..)! It has been quite a year in the Wilcox home..
In February, we spent some time with my family in Utah... I love family time!
In April, went went to Utah for my best friend's wedding! Katie was such a beautiful bride!
We celebrated our 2 year anniversary in May! We kept the celebrations simple, because we wanted to go to an Eagles game as our gift to each other.
We spent a weekend in Newport with Zach's family in May! Yay for going to the beach!
In June, we went to Orlando with my family! We went to Disney World, both Universal Studios park, Cocoa Beach, and we did a session at the Orlando Temple! Zach isn't a fan of the humidity there, but I looooved it! :)
In July, it was the traditional Wilcox trip to Newport! Unfortunately, we were only able to stay for an extended weekend, while everybody else was there for a week.. While we were there, I went on a 5 mile run! That's the furthest I have ever ran! Yeah, I know for some of you that sounds like nothing, but for me, it's kind of a big deal! Haha
We were able to go to Utah for Labor Day weekend! I take every chance I can to visit with my family!
Went went the the Eagles vs Cardinals football game in September! Even though the Eagles didn't play well, we still had a ton of fun!
In October, we went to Disneyland with Zach's family! Yeah, we kind of have a Disney park obsession!
Now for the serious stuff...
Mid September we found out I was pregnant! After my miscarriage last year, and the nurse getting on my case about not getting a blood test (I lost the baby pretty early, but I didn't know I should have gotten a blood test), I called my new dr and set up an appointment right away to get a blood test. Everything came back great, so they set up an ultrasound appointment.
Well, the day before our ultrasound, Zach lost his job.. That threw a little wrench in our plans! Anyways, we went to the ultrasound we had no idea how far along I was, because my previous cycle was 43 days long & I could only guess about when I ovulated. Well, I wasn't too far along, because all we were able to see with the ultrasound was the sac. It looked like I had a bubble in my stomach.
I then had to get 2 hcg tests to make sure my levels were going up. The first test I was at 14000, and at the second test I should have been about 30000, but I was at 20000. They then wanted my to get another ultrasound.
At that ultrasound, we were able to see our little baby and hear the heartbeat! We were told everything was great! Shortly after this, I started to get morning sickness. Bananas and apples became my enemy, which sucked because I ate them almost every day.
Well, 5 days after my last ultrasound, I had another appointment with my dr. This one was for the pap. During the appointment, she offered to listen to the heartbeat, if I wanted that reassurance, which I did. She left to get the gear to hear it, but saw that the ultrasound machine was available, so she decided to use that instead. Well, after a bit of searching, it was discovered that our little baby's heart had stopped beating. I was in shock. She then sat me down to talk about it & my options..
Up to this point I had no spotting or cramping. She said my cervix was pretty closed, and she didn't think I would miscarry on my own. We had plans to go to Disneyland that weekend. She didn't want me to miss the trip, because she thought it would be good to go and have fun.. So I set up an appointment on the following Monday.
She didn't want to do a dnc, so instead we used the pills to jump start the miscarriage. For those of you that don't know about these special pills, what they do is place them in your cervix and as they are absorbed into your body, you began to cramp & then miscarry. The process for me took 3 days. I started cramping almost right away, and that night I had nonstop intense pain for a little over 3 hours.. I'm pretty sure Zach was worried that I was going to die. It wasn't a pleasant experience. Over the next few days I would get sharp pains if I moved too much or too fast. It wasn't until Thursday afternoon that I was able to get the last little bit out.
Even though this was only my second miscarriage, and my first with my current dr, she wanted to test me to see if there is anything genetically that is causing the issues. Last week we met with her to hear the results. I had one test come back positive for blood clotting, and she is putting me on progesterone. So, what I have to do is take a baby aspirin every day to help thin out my blood, then a week after I ovulate, I start taking progesterone. I have to use the ovulation kits in order to track my ovulation, then I take progesterone until I either have my period or I'm 10 weeks pregnant. If I have my period, I have to stop taking it until after I ovulate, otherwise it could cause me to not ovulate. But that's too simple. So I'm going to throw a little wrench in it. I'm allergic to Advil. So, I'm currently taking the baby aspirin every day to see if I have an allergic reaction.
Through the past few months and going through the 2 most difficult trials that we have had, I have learned so much! I'm so grateful for all of the love and support that friends and family have shown us. I'm super grateful for Amber and for her words of comfort about going through the blood clotting stuff & making sure I'm taken care of & had my baby aspirin! My love for Zach has grown so much more through all of this, even though I didn't think I could love him any more than I already did. I love that even with life falling apart all around us, we still were able to laugh and have fun with one another. He is my perfect man, my dream come true! I know one day we will have a family, but for now, I will continue to enjoy my one on one time with Zach!
We didn't choose to share our story because we wanted people to feel bad for us, but because people keep asking about our baby plans & because I know many of you wanted an update about my results & what we are going to be doing going forward.
Oh, and I'm sorry this was such a long post, haha!

Married Life!! :)
Oh my goodness! Being married is the best thing EVER! We have so much fun! We love living together, it makes life that much more entertaining! So far, I have attacked him with a water gun when he came home from work one night, I had to pee in the shower because the toilet was clogged (with toilet paper, not poop. He killed like 5 roaches and used a little too much tp to do so), I get to attempt to cook, we have conversations in the middle of the night when he goes to bed ( I usually go to bed first, and I'm asleep when he comes in, so I never remember what we talk about, but he gets a good laugh..) we watch Phineas and Ferb ALL THE TIME, and we are constantly laughing, sometimes laughing so hard that we cry!
We love our apartment, especially the complex that we are in! The only thing we aren't too fond of is when somebody decides to turn on the tennis court lights when we are going to bed. Those lights are like football lights, huge and bright! So it lights up our whole place. But other than that, we love being so close to the club house. I take advantage of the pool when I can, but we have yet to use the racquetball court, gym, or sauna. Maybe one day.. We also have a really cool park about a mile away, and a nice little path that leads to it! It reminds me of the green belt in Idaho, except it follows the highway and not a river.
Yep, life is great!!

Since this is our first blog, we figure we should give a little background info on us.. So here it goes!
We met a little over 2 years ago, through mutual friends. On Nov. 3, 2008, about 6 months later, we finally starting dating! Then, in Nov 2009, we decided that we are gonna get married! So we started dress and ring shopping! Zach called the Las Vegas Temple on Jan 26 and set our wedding date and time, which was May 8, 2010 at 11 am! I bought my dress in Jan. He finally made it to Utah to buy my ring in Feb. On March 4, 2010 I got my ring! Here is the proposal story (since I know everybody loves hearing these stories)
That day we decided to go to dinner, then shop for clothes to wear in our engagement pics. So we went to dinner at Cheesecake Factory. While we were eating, Zach got a text from his mom. He accidentally read that text out load, and it said "The eagle has landed." He then tried to play it off like he had no idea what she meant by that. Well, we went back to his house after dinner so we can put my food in the fridge. While we were there, Zach grabbed "the eagle". He also showed me the certificate for my amazing diamond. Yeah, we did everything backwards! We then went to Town Square to shop! (Town Square is where we went on our first date, and our 6 month anniversary, and many other times! Most of our favorite dates are there) We shopped around, and without me realizing it, he tried to make sure we went in all of the stores that we went in on our first date. His plan was to propose at Town Square, but that didn't end up happening. When we got back to his house, and as I was about to leave to go to the gym, he proposed! It was a pretty funny proposal, but that's how we are. Obviously, I said yes!
I went through the Salt Lake City Temple on May 1, 2010. It was such an amazing experience! Zach was suppose to take me through the veil, but we think the temple worker got us confused with the other couple there and he didn't let Zach do that (so we did a short veil before we were sealed a week later). The SLC Temple is sooooo beautiful! And there is so much history there! I'm so glad that I was able to do a live session. I personally think it made it so much easier to understand.
We were sealed and married for time and all of eternity on May 8! It was the best day of my life! I still get a little teary eyed when I think about how I get to be with Zach forever! It was such an amazing day! After we got married and took some pics at the temple, we went to our restaurant, California Pizza Kitchen! Then relaxed a little before our reception. We had so much fun, and are so grateful for all the love and support that we have received from our family and friends! Everything turned out great!
Since then, married life has been great! It has been super easy for us to adjust! Life is AMAZING! I think this blog is getting a little long, so I will save our fun married stories for another time!
